Cool Head, Warm Heart

There is a great urgency today for us to think logically, keep our head cool and reach out to all brothers and sisters Malaysian in peace.

This is in response to the Metro Tabernacle church in Desa Melawati, Kuala Lumpur, which was fire-bombed in an attack that gutted its ground floor and damaged its outer wall early this morning.

We would like to appeal to all those whom are related to the Islamic and Christian faith to to keep calm and keep all avenues of dialogue open before anybody retaliates in vengeance.

This is a time when we need to keep Malaysia united and not spiral into anarchy. There is no point in burning down places of worship when we have been living side by side each other of all faiths for so long and nothing has happened. Why let politics get in the way and get wild in the process.

If we do not keep things in perspective, we may get ourselves entangled into something that we rather not. Let May 13 incident be a huge reminder to us that, all it takes is a small spark to spread the hatred and more rumours to fan it. Please please keep our future generation in mind, they too have a right to see this great nation progress!

  1. Same old 13 May politics.

    Bankrupt politicians with bankrupt ideas.

Can we have mature politics for once ?

Gerakan hands are tainted, as it is still part of the ruling coalition that allows this to happen.

Where are the FRUs during the protests ?
while opposition was arrested for wearing black ?

What kind of double-standard is our law-enforcement adhering to ?

Be sure that comes GE-13, you guys will be kicked hard in the butt.

  2. You know what, Petestop, as much as I would like to disagree with you, the truth is, the handling of the burning down of Metro Tabernacle and the attempted burning of the other two other churches does not go down well with the people, even in my own constituency.

The morning of 8 Jan, I got people panicking by phone and sms on whether churches in and around KL area will be burnt down or not.

Another old friend of mine called me twice to check if it is safe to drive into KL after he got the sms on cars with rosaries and christian articles will be smashed up.

Who in their right mind will think that the treatment of this is fair and just. And whether it is or is it not, the handling of perception must be done with care.

As of now, the aftermath of the cow head incident is already left a bad taste in our mouth, another one is on the way. Sadly both involve religious matters.

I’m frustrated to say that after 9 months of good 1Malaysia campaigning, (I’m not going to argue with you on what 1Malaysia is, except that I’ve boughht some of that unit trust awhile ago, hope it brings in good dividend soon) everything just went down the drain in smoke (just like that).

When will the leadership learn how to wisely deal with incidents that involves all races?

  3. I am just back from CES in Las Vegas, where people of all races come and unveil their latest invention, makes connection, establish business to bring the human race forward, at least from consumer electronics point of view.

On the other hand, get this news of fire attacks in Malaysia, further regression of race relation in Bolehland.

All this points the rot at the top, which is what 308 is all about. If we care enough we should cut this rot off before it kills off the whole body.

  4. One should not behave irrationally and emotionally by blaming the government in any destructive act. ANything is possible, perhaps a ploy by the Opposition to oust the PM? No way? Anwar’s, Hadi’s and LGE’s faeces taste good?
