Hang Tuah Would Be Very Sad
![]()
If Hang Tuah was still alive today, he would be very very sad to see that the people of his country would need to apologise for raising the magical wavy knife call the ‘Keris’. Why, because in the old days, it was a symbol of a man’s faith and courage, almost phallic in nature, and somewhat similar to some religious symbols found in other religions throughout the world.
During the times of the Malacca Sultanate, when a Keris is unsheathed, it has to draw blood, if not the bad vibes would return to the holder whom has invoke the spirit of the Keris. And for those leaders of political parties whom have tried to gain political mileage by using that symbol, there must be something very very wrong indeed, that one cannot merely rely on using words alone for political gains, but have to resort to showing a weapon. I’m sad to say that in this age and in this times of political consciousness in our beloved country, we don’t need to use harsh symbols anymore. In fact, WE REJECT it.
The man did not apologise. He merely said, ”If I’ve hurt the feelings of non-malays, I’m willing to apologise.” He used the word, “Saya sudi” – “I’m willing”
Apologising and ‘willing to apologise’ are 2 different things. Ain’t it a bit too late at this point in time, as the ‘venom’ has almost killed all of your three other ’Hangs’ – MCA, MIC, Gerakan, close buddy of yours for the last 36 years in the same struggle.
The action has not mend any bridges - merely shows us that those ‘in power’ feels its OK to do it, then ‘attempt’ to apologise later, it’s OK, nobody got hurt … ! But I’m sure the people of ‘New Malaysia’, the generation that does not tolerate any of this, will not hesitate to choose again in the next 13GE, and this time, if we are not careful, its not the ‘3 Hangs’ who will get it, but ‘Hang Tuah‘ himself.
We cannot tolerate leaders who say things like, “this Keris will bath in the blood of …”, “the Temple Bells will never ring on malay soil again” – Fellow citizens, reject them, reject them.

Not to mention, he is the minister of educating the next generation of Malaysians. I heard that stories of Hang Tuah had been removed from the education system because they found evidents that Hang Tuah is actually a Baba, how true is that?

One of the complaints about the keris issue that concerns Gerakan was the aftermath of the event.
Yes, the public comprising the minorities were incensed and was glad that the youth leaders from MCA, Gerakan and MIC were going to bring up the issue with Hishammuddin.
However, the result did not give us satisfaction!
We didn’t get the apology we expected but instead saw 4 fellows linking hands in unity saying all is solved.
No apology, no explanation, no regret, no promise of it not happening again, so what was solved?
Frankly, what Hishammuddin did can be expected and even tolerated to some extent. As they say, let juveniles be juveniles and such antics can be expected of fire-brand UMNO Youth.
What was not expected nor tolerated was the way the other 3 let him off the hook in such an easy manner. 1 meeting and all is solved and the public none the wiser of what transpired behind close doors.
Naturally, we came to our own conclusions which is MCA, Gerakan and MIC will never fight for our rights if its at the expense of their position in power vis-a-vis BN.
We translated our fears into votes at the 12GE.
Mr Lim, you have shown your disgust about this event and I applaud you for it but now I ask you and the party you belong to, what are you going to do about it?
The public is more interested what role Gerakan will play in future to protect our interests or will it just roll over each time it is up against UMNO?
